Belt ploughs


Belt Ploughs are an important safety equipment for all conveyors. They are designed to prevent material from being caught between the return side of the belt and the pulley face.

The Sandvik range of belt ploughs are self adjusting and are designed to operate efficiently with minimum maintenance. There are three types for normal conveyors, high speed conveyors and reversible conveyors. As with our other cleaners these types are available as a standard construction or as a heavy duty version.

Pit Bottom (Stainless Steel)
The standard Sandvik plough is developed to remove material carrying back on the return side of the belt.
Material passing back on the return side of the belt can result in premature wear of pulley lagging. Build up on tail pulleys can resulting in belt tracking problems and lumps travelling around the pulleys can puncture belts or bruise plies.

Pit Bottom – high speed (Stainless Steel)

As belt speeds increase the ability of ploughs to maintain efficiencies and results are tested. Sandvik’s high performance PIT BOTTOM High Speed Ploughs achieve outstanding results and safe running at high speeds.

Pit Bottom – Reversing (Stainless Steel)
Many conveyor systems with restricted access require materials carrying back on the return side to be removed where they can be easily handled or removed safely.
The Pit Bottom Single sided plough comes in both hands and can be adapted to any structure.
