Sandvik surface tophammer drill rigs are equipped with powerful hydraulic rock drills. Renowned for high penetration rates, great reliability, excellent fuel economy and low operating costs, they are diesel-powered, self-propelled and equipped with onboard compressors and dust collectors. Models range from lightweight rubber-tired rigs to extremely powerful crawler drills with ergonomic operator’s cabs, mechanized rod handling and intelligent drilling systems. Hole diameter range: 22-150 mm.

Track drill rigs

Sandvik DPi series intelligent surface top hammer drill rigs are a result of 10 years experience in drilling in quarries and open pits in the hole range of 76 - 150 mm. Fully equipped, the new generation intelligent rigs produce information, among others, on the condition of the drill and the work performed. Clever drilling parameter set up, simple user interface, advanced ROPS/FOPS certified safety cabin, and step by step trouble shooting instructions make the drilling process smooth and efficient. The DPi series technical solutions also respect the environment. Compared with similar conventional models, the DPi rigs consume 15% less fuel. In standard 2500 yearly engine hours, this means a reduction of 35 tons in CO₂ emissions. In addition, a patented dust binding system keeps the air fresh and the dust levels in an all-time low.

Track drill rigs

Sandvik DP series crawler drill rigs have an ergonomic operator’s cab and are completely self-contained. Equipped with a powerful hydraulic rock drill and mechanized rod changer, they are extremely productive machines for drilling quality holes from 76-152 mm in diameter to depths of up to 25 meters. With high rotation torque, proper flushing and sophisticated, ergonomic drilling control system, they drill easily through varying rock conditions and are capable of very high production rates in quarries and opencast mines.

Sandvik DX self-propelled, self-contained hydraulic crawler drill rigs have a revolving superstructure, articulated boom and can handle very rough terrain. With an ergonomic operator’s cab, powerful hydraulic rock drill and mechanized rod changer, they drill quality holes from 51-127 mm in diameter to depths of up to 25 meters. The DX rigs huge coverage area that lets you drill more holes, faster, from a single set-up. Their power, precision and versatility make them an ideal choice for construction, quarrying or surface mining operations.

Cabless drill rigs

The Sandvik DXR series rigs are radio remote-controlled crawler drills with a revolving superstructure, articulated boom and mechanized rod changer, designed for use in very rough terrain. The DXR rigs are extremely mobile and versatile, typically used in road cutting, pipeline drilling and foundation drilling. The Sandvik DC 550, DC560 and DC700 rigs are of classic design with mast-mounted drilling controls, maneuverable chassis, fast tramming and quick rod handling. All rigs are self-contained and equipped with powerful hydraulic rock drills. The hole diameter range covered by the three series is 41-127 mm.

Completely self-contained, they are safe, agile, highly productive and very easy to operate. Exceptionally mobile and easy to transport, they are ideal for public works, with applications in rock excavation, foundation drilling, road cutting, trenching, rock bolting and demolition.
