Continuous miners

Sandvik electrically powered, track-mounted continuous mining machines are designed to cut coal and soft minerals continually, eliminating the need for drill-and-blast. Using advanced cutting technology, they cut and gather the material simultaneously, and convey it into shuttle cars, haul trucks or a continuous haulage system. Extremely productive and reliable, they are used to develop longwall panels for extraction, as well as for full scale production in room-and-pillar operations.

  • Continuous miner

Former name: Alpine Continuous Miner
Sandvik MC-series continuous miners are compact, exceptionally maneuverable mining machines designed for high productivity in narrow roadways. Less than 3 m wide and with a cutting height of 1.3 - 3.6 m, they are capable of making right angle turns in widths of just 4.2 m. Used in so-called place change mining situations, they are reliable, highly productive workhorses and can be supplied with an onboard operator’s station or radio remote control.

  • Borer miner

Former name: MARIETTA BORER
Sandvik MF-series borer miners are wide, high-powered, track-mounted continuous mining machines that cut a full face by principal means of two or more large radial cutters.
Used in room-and-pillar operations to extract minerals such as trona, potash and salt, they cut an almost rectangular profile and are extremely productive.
